In the men’s game, three names have dominated the scenes in world tennis during the last two decades. Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic are the names of those players.
They both have 20 Grand Slam titles as of today.
These three players’ names were recently taken by Matteo Berrettini. Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic were singled out for praise. When asked who has been the most difficult opponent he has faced thus far, the Italian player chose the Big 3.
He joked that if these three players hadn’t been present, he would have won more championships by now.
“I would need to go with Djokovic, Nadal, or Federer. Arguably the three greatest players of all time.
“It has been exciting to be played simultaneously as all three, but also slightly annoying (joking) as I’d probably have a few more trophies at home,” he said on Gio Journal.
The Big Three are in a different league
The brilliance of the Swiss maestro, the Spanish ace and the Serbian has never been matched by any other player in the sport’s history.
The fact that we were able to see all of these players at the same time is a huge plus for fans. They have all pushed each other to become great players at different periods in their careers.
In tennis, Federer’s season was cut short after he underwent yet another knee surgery. It will be some time before he returns to a tennis court.
Similarly, Nadal’s season was cut short due to an unhealed foot. In 2022, he plans to make a comeback.
Djokovic’s ambitions of winning all four Majors in a single season were dashed when he lost in the final of the US Open.
We expect the players to come back stronger from their injuries It will be intriguing to see how the Serbs complete the season.
