Nadal reveals dream to start a family – “I’m a person who loves kids”

21-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal revealed his dream to start a family, saying he loves the family life.

Nadal is currently a record-breaker and a legend of tennis. However, as is the case with sport, one day time will come calling, and that would mean hanging up the boots.

Retirement allows such athletes to focus on other aspects of their lives. For the Spaniard, it’s a grounded dream he is after, and that is widening his inner circle.

Nadal revealed his dream to start a family due to his love for kids and the family life.

As quoted by Tennis World USA, the Australian Open winner said, “I would love to have children: boys, girls…I’m a person who loves kids and I’m a family guy.

“But also I tell you that the reality is, the years keep passing, I would like to start to do all of this when my sporting life determines it.”

“I think it’s also above all about looking after the kids. I don’t know if it (travelling throughout the year and having children) is ideal. I didn’t know,” he continued.

“If I didn’t see myself playing tennis…then possibly, I could have had children before. It’s not something that just depends on you. I love children and I would like to form part of a family, and at the age, we are now we’re not going to wait five years.”

Nadal will be seen next at Acapulco. It starts on the 21st of February, and he revealed what he planned to do there.

“I signed up for Acapulco and Indian Wells, but I have to make a decision that are in accordance with what my body allows me to do,” he said.

“Acapulco is the closer one, I would like to be there but I have to see what are the perspective(s).”
