Naomi Osaka’s fourth Major victory of the season

In terms of her season thus far, she began in Melbourne, where she won the Australian Open for the second time in her career. Her 23-match winning streak came to an end soon after when she lost in Miami.

She revealed shortly before the French Open that she will not participate in post-match press conferences due to mental health difficulties. Her choice was not well welcomed, and she withdrew from Roland Garros before her second-round match.

After skipping the Wimbledon Championships, she went on to represent Japan at the Tokyo Olympics. She failed to impress and did not receive a medal. She was unable to defend her title at the US Open this season.
