Senior citizen breaks down after receiving amazing Nadal birthday surprise

Rafael Nadal, a 20-time Grand Slam champion, is one of the world’s most giving athletes. That is why he is admired by not only his fans but also his fellow athletes.

The Spaniard recently gave fans yet another reason to adore him by making a 90-year-old fan’s birthday one to remember.

Without a question, when it comes to assisting others or making someone’s day, Nadal is the GOAT. So, it was only logical that when he was informed about one of the oldest admirers’ birthday, he jumped at the chance.

This time, the 35-year-old engaged in a video conference with one of his fans, who later burst into tears of joy.

Rafael Nadal gives a 90-year-old fan a birthday surprise

For die-hard sports fans, meeting their favourite player one-on-one is a dream come true.

The same thing happened to Rafael Nadal’s 90-year-old fan, who was taken aback when he saw the tennis legend on his phone.

The spectator in the video uploaded on Twitter becomes emotional after hearing Nadal congratulate him. It would undoubtedly be one of the most memorable moments of his life.

“Eternally grateful to Rafael Nadal and everyone who has helped make his 90th birthday unforgettable. I hope you understand that I will leave the video in private. I show you his reaction,” the video was captioned.

It isn’t the first time Nadal has gone out of his way to make a fan’s day. He had already granted the wish of his 95-year-old Alzheimer’s patient fan to see her following his Madrid defeat.

Unfortunately, during his French Open semifinal match against Novak Djokovic, Nadal worsened his longstanding foot injury. He’s been in recuperation mode since then.

Even though he went on to compete in the Citi Open later, it just made matters worse. Nadal confirmed shortly after that he would not compete in any other tournament in 2021.

In addition, the Spaniard previously expressed reservations about his comeback next year. Despite this, he will be working hard to ensure that his return is as soon as possible.

In 2022, Nadal would have recovered. Winning his 21st Grand Slam title, on the other hand, will be a whole other challenge.
