Serena Williams sets an all-time record with crazy card sale

Serena Williams, a 23-time Grand Slam champion, is one of tennis’ most recognizable figures. She is not just the face of several major corporations today, but she is also a source of inspiration for millions of young people.

Fans have a strong desire to collect all of Williams’ sports cards, dating back to her early career in the late 1990s.

Alexis Ohanian, her husband, has a sizable collection of both her and her sister, Venus Williams’ cards.

Serena Williams’ sports card is the most valuable of all time

Serena Williams’ 2003 sports rookie card was recently auctioned off. It is in excellent shape and has been autographed by the former World No. 1 player.

As a result, it was auctioned for a stunning $44,280.

This sports card, interestingly, has the highest final sale price worth of any female sports card. It’s an all-time high, demonstrating just how influential Serena is as an athlete even today.

Serena hasn’t had a fantastic start to the season. Naomi Osaka defeated her in straight sets in Melbourne, despite defeating other top-seed women at the Australian Open 2021 and reaching the semi-finals.

The American superstar struggled during the clay-court season, winning just one victory on the surface before the 2021 French Open.

Elena Rybakina defeated her in the pre-quarterfinals at Roland Garros, effectively eliminating her.

Serena Williams was unable to complete a single set at the Wimbledon Championships 2021 due to a leg injury sustained on Center Court. Since then, she hasn’t returned to the court.

Serena Williams’ fans still have high hopes for her and want her to make an amazing comeback.
