“I don’t really care about my results on the court. For me, it’s the other stuff like what is the purpose of your life? That’s why a lot of the stuff doesn’t usually affect me.”
In this clip, Serena appears to take a small dig at Sharapova.
Williams’ tennis journey in 2021
Serena Williams began her season in Melbourne and made it all the way to the semifinals of the Australian Open. She was not seen again for quite some time after that. She was last seen in Rome, where she was getting ready for the French Open.
She did, however, compete in a few clay events this season, although she did not impress and did not go far in the competitions. Prior to the Wimbledon Championships, she did not compete in any warm-up events.
Unfortunately, she had to withdraw from her first round match after spraining her ankle in the first set’s early games.
She recently opted to forgo the US Open as well. It will be fascinating to see how she does in 2022.
