Steph Curry has been on fire this year, making a more than solid case for MVP. It has been a special month for him, averaging 38.2 PPG, 52.9% from the field and a robust 47% from behind the arc. Through April, he has also shattered several records.

The first came on April 12th, when he broke the legend Wilt Chamberlain’s record to become the Warriors all-time leading scorer.

The second came on April 19th, when he broke Kobe Bryant’s record of most consecutive games of 30+ points.

Of an honour that fits the bill, Curry broke yet another record for most 3s in a month with a shocking 85. The month isn’t even over yet! The previous record for most 3s in a month was held by now Brooklyn Nets star James Harden, who hit 82 in November 2019 with the Houston Rockets.

When asked about how confident he has been feeling lately, Curry said it was all a matter of rhythm.

“When you’re in this type of rhythm, nothing,” he said.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr was visibly excited to see Curry hit such extraordinary levels.

“It seems like I’ve run out of ways to describe Steph’s play, I’m just going to stop trying. I’ll ask you to go back three or four games ago, look at my comments then and use those tonight again,” he said.

“I don’t know what else to say. The shot-making is just unbelievable and mind-boggling, but I’ve used those phrases already. But I know you got to keep asking — as long as he keeps playing like that, and you got to keep asking, I got to keep answering.”

Given his recent performances, it’s difficult to make a case for anyone but Steph Curry being named the Most Valuable Player this season.
