WATCH: Perez cheekily trolls Raikkonen during interview – “Speaks longer than I thought!”

Red Bull driver Sergio Perez cheekily trolled Kimi Raikkonen during an interview with Sky Sports.

Raikkonen is well-known for his short and brisk interviews with the media, often avoiding detailed replies. At the Spanish Grand Prix, however, he went out of character and spoke longer than usual. Behind him, Perez waited patiently for his turn.

After the Finnish legend left, Perez said, “He speaks longer than I thought,” as a funny dig. Clearly the Mexican is aware of how Raikkonen behaves with the media, and took a jibe in good humor.

The two drivers enjoyed great races at the Spanish Grand Prix. Perez battled from eight place to clinch a P5. Meanwhile, Raikkonen finished race at P12, just behind a points finish.

Next week, the two drivers will take to the Monte Carlo street circuit in Monaco. Both are already familiar with the track, and have even clinched podium finishes there. However, Perez is the one who can realistically get a better result.

Drivers hope Monaco acts as springboard

His Red Bull car is much faster than many others on the grid. Moreover, Red Bull has a track record of doing well at Monaco.

However, given his shaky start to the season, Perez is under a little bit of pressure to perform. Red Bull is known to be a demanding constructor, and Perez hasn’t been a worthy rival to Max Verstappen yet.

It will be interesting to see how the former Racing Point driver puts it behind him.

Raikkonen’s  Alfa Romeo, on the other hand, is a midfield car on a good day. But if Alfa Romeo deliver a good strategy and have a good qualifier, things could be different.

Raikkonen’s teammate Antonio Giovinazzi should not be counted out either. Under the former world champion, he has become a crucial cog of the Alfa Romeo machine.
