Who will Rob Font face next after emerging victorious against Cody Garbrandt at UFC Vegas 27?

After a 25-minute fight with former 135-pound champion Cody Garbrandt, Rob Font lifted his hand to end UFC Vegas 27. Garbrandt had early success in scoring takedowns, but the same tactic failed later in the fight. Font, on the other hand, remained calm throughout the battle and used his jab to secure victory.

Font, with his four-fight winning streak, is unquestionably in line for a shot at the bantamweight championship.

Fighters Rob Font could face next

3) Dominick Cruz

Dominick Cruz is widely regarded as one of the greatest bantamweights of all time. He is currently ranked ninth in the 135-pound weight class. A victory over a major name like Cruz might add to Font’s legacy. Furthermore, the majority of the top ten fighters are already booked. Cruz will effectively be a decent matchup for Font.

2) Petr Yan

Petr Yan is scheduled to face Aljamain Sterling again for the championship. However, Sterling is reportedly recovering from surgery. As a result, the UFC could have a golden opportunity to set up a number one contender battle between Yan and Font.

3) Winner of TJ Dillashaw vs. Cory Sandhagen

Font is ranked third in the bantamweight division, with only Petr Yan and Cory Sandhagen ranking higher.

Sandhagen, on the other hand, has a fight scheduled for next month against former champion T.J. Dillashaw, who is coming off a two-year suspension. Font will face the winner of this fight after they square off on July 24.

Garbandt’s potential opponents

Garbrandt landed several takedowns at the start of the fight but was unable to inflict significant damage on his opponent.

His future in the UFC appears to be grim after losing four of his last five fights. With all of his upcoming fights scheduled in the bantamweight division, the 29-year-old only has a few choices for his next contest.

Garbrandt could face the following opponents next:

1) Marlon Moraes

Marlon Moraes, like Garbrandt, is going through a tough patch in his UFC career. The former title challenger has been defeated by TKO in three of his last four fights. Both of these warriors must make a comeback against a formidable foe. As a result, this pairing could be ideal.

2) Sean O’ Malley

There cannot be a better opponent for Garbandt right now than Sean O’Malley. Despite not being ranked in the top fifteen, O’Malley is a very well-known bantamweight contender.

After suffering his first octagon loss against Marlon Vera, he made a stunning comeback to knock out Thomas Almeida at UFC 260.

Another reason this battle makes sense is that Garbrandt and O’Malley have both exchanged insults on social media. So, what better place to resolve this dispute than in the octagon?
