Aston Martin driver Sebastian Vettel had a difficult set of four races till now this 2021 season. However, Monaco proved to be a blessing in disguise for him.

The 33-year-old gave a magnificent performance this Sunday after scoring his first points of the season. He finished the race at P5.

The four-time world champion’s performance attracted the praise of former Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg.

What did Rosberg say?

The 2016 championship winner commended his fellow countryman for his driving in Monaco.

“I’m very happy for Sebastian, we’ve had to criticize him so much in the last few weeks and years. Now we’ve seen old Sebastian, the phenomenal driver,” Nico said.

“He’ll definitely get from me ten out of ten. The reason is the two laps he made when Gasly and Hamilton were already in the pits. They were so phenomenal and strong that he overtook both of them. A great weekend for him.”

Vettel was himself ecstatic after his performance. His time in F1 has been difficult to him for a while now.

This result would be highly encouraging for him as his fans got to see his old self again.

Another world champion surprised by Vettel

Apart from Rosberg, Timo Glock was also impressed with Vettel’s performance.

The four-time world champion said, “It’s the ease that he showed over the entire weekend. He was able to improve from session to session and did a great job in qualifying and in the race too.”

Vettel has been having it rough for a while now. Hopefully, this is not just a one-off performance as his fans want to see him win the podium too.
