Sergio Aguero reportedly decides to give Barcelona experiment a go despite Lionel Messi heartbreak

Barcelona’s new signing Sergio ‘Kun’ Agüero has reportedly confirmed his stay at Barcelona, amid rumours linking him with a move away.

Agüero arrived this summer on a free transfer from Manchester City, having lit up the Premier League for a decade. However, Barcelona have lost Lionel Messi due to financial and economic reasons. This has reportedly frustrated Agüero, as one of the reasons he moved to Barcelona was to play football with his best friend and countryman.

However, a new report has emerged that despite frustrations, Agüero plans on staying at Barcelona. According to Tier 1 source Albert Rogé, he has reportedly conveyed the same to those at the club.

He posted a video of Agüero on Twitter. In it, Agüero can be heard as saying, “No te preocupes, me tienes todo el año.”

This translates to “Don’t worry, you have me all year long.”

Problems all around

Barcelona’s shocking financial condition is not news anymore. They lost their greatest ever player in Messi due to their abysmal financial condition. They could not afford his wages, and even though both player and club wanted to sign, the rules did not let them.

Barcelona signed Memphis Depay, Eric Garcia and the aforementioned Agüero in the transfer window to bolster their squad. However, they cannot even register their new signings, so technically, Agüero may not even be a Barcelona player. Such is the condition of the illustrious club today.

The Catalan giants signed Agüero for a clinical #9. Barcelona do not have a good striker in their ranks after selling Luis Suarez. Their only option is Martin Braithwaite, and Agüero is any day an upgrade over the Dane.

Barcelona and Agüero will hope that he can be registered first. When that happens, they will hope he can step up the fill the huge goalscoring void left by Messi. A fine season in front of goal could boost Barcelona’s hopes of doing well in all competitions. It will be an exciting new season for the Catalan club.
