Emma Raducanu revealed that Andy Murray is a great inspiration for her during a recent press conference at the US Open 2021. She stated that the three-time Grand Slam winner has accomplished a lot in his career because of his exceptional abilities.

Raducanu shows gratitude

In a press conference, Raducanu said, “Andy is such an inspirational person to look up. The amount that he’s achieved, the amount he can do with his racquet and skill. To have him like sometimes believe in me, support me, I think it means a lot to have had someone like that,” as reported by Borneo Bulletin.

Murray is certainly one of the sport’s legends, according to Raducanu. She expressed her gratitude for the way he helped her. It’s interesting to note that she was just 10 years old when Murray won his sole US Open title.

Raducanu also spoke about her meeting with tennis icon Virginia Wade at the same press conference. She said it was a privilege to speak with the three-time Grand Slam champion, and Virginia provided her with some helpful advice.

Also today had Virginia Wade in the front row. I saw her, spoke to her a little bit after the match. It was just really cool to be able to speak to such legends, get their tips on a couple things,” added the player.

In the quarterfinals of the US Open 2021, Emma Raducanu will face Belinda Bencic, the gold medallist from the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Fans have great expectations of her and expect her to provide outstanding performance.
